Happy Day

I am very happy and excited. We got a house!

Here is a link to the house.

We are NOT getting a land line – don’t want it and don’t need it. We
ARE switching over to Nextel and should have that taken care of in the
next couple weeks. Matt and I both will have new numbers then.

So details on the house. It is a two family house in the South Park
Historic District. It is a dark red Victorian house (built in
1900).

We are doing rent with option to buy – and we are planning on buying the whole
thing. Right now we are only paying $550 a month for it. We will be
living on the left side of the house and even once it is turned over
to us we will continue to rent out the right side to pay the mortgage.
Our side is 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom — sorry bathroom is on the second
floor – , Living Room, Family Room, huge kitchen with walk in
pantry/laundry room and full basement (there is a full basement on
both sides of the house). There is also a walk in attic with 18 ft
ceilings the covers the length of the house and we are going to turn
it into another room – kind of like our Zen room. There is a fenced
in yard with a 3 car garage in back. For now the owner uses the
garage as his painting contracting shop and is going to lease it from
us when we buy it. The basement has been completely painted with nice
DRY cement floors. It is totally sealed through and through. There
is a work bench down there and lots of room. They are replacing the
fuse box right now and switching over to circuit breakers. There is
also a security system already installed and we can use it if we want
or just leave it be. It has motion detectors on all floors including
the basement.

The carpet is brand new and everything in the entire house was just
repainted less than a month ago. The windows all tilt in for easy
cleaning and they all have storm windows. There is a fireplace but it
was bricked up years ago – but still looks nice.

Appliances came furnished except for a refrigerator. We found a
stainless steel one at HHGregg for under $600. And we are looking at
switching out the stove to stainless steel and getting a matching
dishwasher.

The pantry has floor to ceiling cupboards and even has an old potato
bin. So all in all it is a really nice house.

We should have everything moved in between now and Xmas. Matt and I
are not going to go out to Cali this trip – we are going to wait till
after the first of the year. I do know we are going away somewhere for my birthday and then we have
some other trips planned throughout the year.

So there is the info. Once we are settled in and such we will have a
get-together at the new house.
