Christmas is over
The kids are all now fat
Please put a penny in the old man’s hat
If you haven’t a penny
A lottery ticket will do
He will only use the penny
For a nice cold brew!
Ahh Christmas. What a wonderful time of year to remember all those who are no longer with us to celebrate this hap happy season of hustle and bustle and people knocking each other over to get that last Cabbage Patch Kid doll. Tis the season when you have to wonder why you now have nothing in your savings because it has all been spent on frivolous things. Oh by golly be jolly forget the mistletoe and holly – because now you have had to take out a loan each and every year just to pay for the u-haul used to carry home the presents.
Ok so I am not all bah hum-bug but I get so tired of the commercialism and the crowds. So let me get this straight – Son of God dies and is reborn so we celebrate by making ourselves broke and forgetting that we were once happy people with a purpose in life. Not to mention we are all the sons and daughters of God, Allah, Diana, Persephone, whatever the hell you want to call them. So this Jesus guy made a few predictions and healed people with the laying on of hands. Hmmmmm well I can tell the future just by looking at someone and I have done Reiki healing for years now – and I am the daughter of my Gods – does that mean someone is going to drop everything and throw a multi-billion dollar party for me every year now? NOPE.
We spent the holidays at my parent’s house. And while I love their quaint little house – when you fit 8 adults and 4 children into a small area – let’s just say I needed some fresh air. And believe me I have nothing against smoking – I was a smoker myself and only quit so that I could breathe with my asthma – but when you have 7 adults chain smoking in a room the size of a closet – it tends to make it hard to see. And my father – I swear the man needs to be on my menopause pills. It was fucking 65 degrees in the house and he was hot! I was so cold but still begged for the window to be opened so that I could see again.
So we did the same old –
~ gf read a book and was bored all day
~ Brother and his family were 3 hours later than everyone else showing up – as usual
~ Kids ran up and down the stairs
~ Niece threw temper tantrums all day because mommy was around – not that she was not already up her mother’s butt all day anyway – but she threw a tantrum because she had to have the Care Bear’s Castle opened NOW so instead of mommy saying no you have to eat dinner first she took the toy up stairs and put it together without my niece eating dinner and then fed her pie for dinner later – nutritious
~ Aunt for once did not get upset and leave crying – at least as far as I know. Although she had a fit when we played our traditional Trivial Pursuit game because she thinks she owns the cards and can’t read them for ca-ca. So my father – being the typical older brother he is – made the comment that we needed someone who could read the cards – and of course she pouted. And who was the intelligent one to think that she could fit on a little card table fold up chair weighing in at almost 400 lbs? WTF were they thinking? No wonder she complains of sitting in them because they slant downward on her.
And as the 9 o’clock chimes hit everyone quickly packed everything up and ran out the door to our own respective little homes.
So that is my holiday update โ next posting relational update.
